Geraldine M. Wheeler

Shelburne Falls, MA - Geraldine M. "Jerry" (Mazanec) Wheeler, 96, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Jerry was born in Greenfield on January 8, 1929 the daughter of William F. and Edna (Dunbar) Mazanec. She was a graduate of Arms Academy, class of '47.

She was a helpful, pleasant and kind store clerk at the former Ben Franklin store and Larry's clothing store, both in Shelburne Falls. Many people in the village appreciated her friendly assistance.

At home she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and in her younger days bowling at the S.F. Bowling Alley.

Survivors include her son Guy (Debbie) Wheeler of Colrain, daughter Paula (Charlie) King of Plainfield, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 gr. gr. grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Harold Wheeler, and her brother William Mazanec.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 1:00 pm at Hill Cemetery, Old Village Rd. in Shelburne

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Arms Library, 60 Bridge St., Shelburne Falls, MA 01370

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
