Hal A. Huff

Charlemont, MA - Hal A. Huff, 78, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Stockton, CA on July 17, 1946 the son of James and Daisy Mae (Cunningham) Huff. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the US Navy. He was stationed at different bases over the years and obtained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He retired from the service after 23 years, most recently serving at Westover Air Reserve Base. He was extremely proud of the Navy and of serving our country.

In 1967 on leave from the Navy, Hal met the love of his life Deborah Burtt. Shortly after meeting they were married and they have spent the last 57 years together building a loving family. His family meant everything to him and he cherished spending time with them all. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and true patriot and friend.

He enjoyed country music, snowmobiling, hunting and just being outdoors.

His adoring family he leaves behind include his wife Deb, daughters; Julie J. (Kenneth) Shippee of Rowe, Helen E. (Thomas) Danek of Rowe, his grandchildren; Kyle (Stasia) Shippee, Hailey G. Larned, Kurt W. Shippee, Reese L. Danek, Emma J. Shippee, Maggie M. Danek, great grandson Carter A. Shippee, and multiple extended family members.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
