Uncle Jon will be sadly missed. He first stole my heart when he bought me my first real Barbie doll when I was a little girl. I will cherish all the memories or snowmobiling, camping and hunting for Christmas trees in the woods surround the house. He will be sadly missed and my heart goes out to Julie. XOXOX

I am sad to learn of Jon's passing. I have been one of the fortunate Conway folks to have known Jon since childhood. He was like a big brother, always watching out for me from the time I was very young girl. He would spend time on our farm at 36 Main St. helping out and watching out for the younger children in the neighborhood. When I was a bit older, he would make sure I was included in baseball games in our backyards. And I fondly remember him showing me how to hold the bat and reminding me, "Don't swing like a girl." But I WAS a girl, one of the older girls on Main Street. Still I listened to his advice and tried my best. I always felt safe when Jon was around. He will be missed by so many, this tall man with the big smile and a warm heart. My deepest condolences to Julie, Stewart and the entire family.

I first met Jon as a child when he protected me from being pushed around, with a pretty stern response, to the kids who decided I wouldn't be able to swing on the rotating clothesline and my Aunt Madeline and Uncle Charlies house on Main St. Later we became next door neighbors and snowball fight combatants. I took several snowballs from his doing, and they didn't tickle.
He could pop the ballon tacked onto a teddy bears eyes from 30 yards, with his bow which he continued through out his life. People always considered him one of the best archers at the leagues events, where it was almost certain he would come in first or a very close second during the competitions.
I admired his skill, and liked him, for he treated people with a decent attitude.
He asked me to pitcha baseball to him, saying, "throw it as hard as I can," as a child. He'd knock it out of the range of our baseball park, over the parking area, hitting the embankment some 400 plus feet from the plate, with the clout of a big league professional. He trained his dogs to hunt with him and run the rabbits across his path. I spent a lot of time next door after we moved so I got plenty of chance to watch his interactions with all the Conway folks.
My special condolances go out to the many family members and friends who remember the good person he was, especially his brother Stewie, and wife Julie.

My condolences to Julie and family. Jon was a childhood friend and although I have not seen him in years, I would still recognize that smile.
