Marlene Everett Obituary
Greenfield, MA - Marlene Joyce Chapin Everett Passed away peacefully, on June 30, 2023, after a long battle with Spino-cerebellar Ataxia (SCA), that was diagnosed in her 60's.
Born in Bellows Falls, Vermont September 14, 1942 to Christopher Ford and Arlene (Beaudoin), she graduated from Holy Trinity and attended Greenfield High School and Greenfield Community College. She said, of all the jobs she had, waitressing at IHOP was the most fun. She waitressed at various local restaurants, she was a meat wrapper at Food Mart and Stop and Shop, and worked at Kendal Mills in Colrain and Pratt and Whitney before she retired after nearly 40 years as the Office Manager of Detectoguard, Inc. She loved to dance, read, garden, clean, decorate, go tag-sale-ing, and was an accomplished wall-paper-hanger. She was proud to be a hockey mom to both her sons and she had the most beautiful boisterous laugh.
She is pre-deceased by her grandparents, parents, husband Theodore R. Everett Sr., her two sons -- Thomas Michael Chapin of Oakdale, California and Kevin Joseph Chapin and his wife Jeanine (Martino) both of Greenfield, Massachusetts, and her longtime friend Jeannette Cousino.
She leaves behind her daughter Danielle Tweed (Patrick), Daughter-in-Law Jean Chapin of Oakdale, California, Grand-children Justin Chapin (Melony), Austin Chapin, Codie Chapin, Jeremiah Layden, and Tamara Layden, seven great-grandchildren, her longtime friend Camella Sebastiano, former husband and friend Lawrence Chapin, as well as her beloved dog Violet.
Special thanks are given to Triad, Hospice of Pioneer Valley and Lifepath.
A Celebration of Life for Marlene will be held on Saturday July 15, 2023 at 1 PM at 42 Adams Road in the Common Area.
Memorial contributions in Marlene's name may be sent to Franklin County Sheriff's Department Triad Office 160 Elm St. Greenfield, MA. 01301.
