Michael Pasiecnik Obituary

Michael S. Pasiecnik, Jr.

South Deerfield, MA - Michael S. Pasiecnik Jr., 69, of South Deerfield passed away at home surrounded by the love of family and friends on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 after battling metastatic Gastric Cancer, diagnosed in August of 2022.

Mike was born in Greenfield, MA on July 18, 1953 to the late Muriel (Peggy), and Michael Pasiecnik.

He grew up in Whately, attended Frontier Regional High School. He worked many years on the family farm in Whately until he started working at Hardigg Industries, now Pelican, in May of 1999, working his way up to a supervisor.

Michael enjoyed solving the daily word puzzles, time spent in Maine on Great Moose Lake and at the ocean at Cape Cod. He found pleasure kayaking, surf cast fishing, driving the beaches on the National Sea shore in North Truro and Provincetown and walking the beach at Race Point looking for sea glass. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and often talked about being the first driving teacher to them and also children of friends.

He leaves behind his loving wife Debra (Ralicki) of 42 years and son Nicholas, his brother Phillip (Jackie), and sisters, Carol Carlson (Frank), Mary (Tony) Bovino, Nancy Rogaleski, and Mikki Telega and his sisters-in-law and their spouses, Patricia (Mike) Romano, Sandy (Tommy) Thompson, Tena Ralicki and partner Stephanie, and Susan (Mike) Wan.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother James.

Calling hours will be at the Wrisley Funeral Home, 90 Sugarloaf St., South Deerfield, MA on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm, followed by a funeral service conducted by Rev. Randi Calvo.

Debbie and Nicolas,
We hope that Christmas love will help to heal your hearts. Debbie, I remember when you started dating Michael, you were so happy. Good memories are tucked away in our hearts to help us smile.
Most of my memories of Michael are working on the farm. His smile helped me smile on those hot sweaty days. Lol

Michael was a great man and one hell of a worker. He made my time at Hardigg great. Always had a smile and was strong as an ox. He pushed us to be better and I will always be thankful for the experience and teaching. He was a giving person and will be missed. I'm very sorry for your loss

Dear Deb, Nicholas, and the Pasiecnik Family,

So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He came into our store regularly, always with a friendly smile and something positive to say. I often saw him at the Polish Deli, supporting local businesses and our community. He will be missed by many, I'm sure. We are so very sorry for your loss.

To the family I send my condolences. I worked first shift at pelican and saw Mike when he would come in for his second shift. Always had a friendly hello and ask how everything was going. Mike was a part of management but also had the back of the workers on the floor. That was rare at pelican but Mike was different in that way. I retired four years ago but it saddens me when I see another former workers and friends passing. One other thing about Mike was he would bring in vegetables and strawberries and leave them in the cafeteria for those that he thought could use them. So long Mike and hope you Rest In Peace.......Tom wall.....

Shocking. I had just seen Mike at the SD Post Office over the summer and he looked great. I told him so. Then this. My sincerest sympathies to Deb, Nicholas and all of Mike's siblings with whom I worked over the years. Though separated on different paths in adulthood, we were friends and I have always held a special place for Mike, his family and farm. He was a good kid, a good man and will be missed by those who had the pleasure of calling him friend. RIP, Mike.
