Richard Bugbee Obituary

Richard R. Bugbee

Roscoe, IL — Richard (Dick) R. Bugbee, 74, of Westgate Court, passed away Sunday (2-13-22) at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was born in Turners Falls, MA, on March 6, 1947, the son of Wayne and Lillian (Emond) Bugbee. Dick attended local schools and graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1965. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army's 4th Infantry Division, 1967-1968. He was awarded a special operations medal as a sharpshooter.

Dick was a plant supervisor for Bendix and Besley Products of Greenfield, MA. He later moved to Illinois, finishing his life-long career with Regal Cutting Tools where he served as a Production Manager and then part-time as a Manufacturing Engineer. He retired after 47 years in the tool manufacturing industry.

Dick enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing, and spending time with his golf buddies, Dennis Weiland, Monte Hearl, Rick Hodges, and Andy Van Brocklin.

Dick leaves his children, daughter Shelley Rogers and her husband Shane of Northampton, MA and sons, Lance Bugbee and Shane Bugbee (Fournier) of Erving, MA. He also leaves his companion of over 30 years, Janice Richotte of Roscoe, IL, and her children; Todd Richotte of Montague, Brian Richotte and his wife Katrina of Erving, and Lisa Richotte of Cambodia. He was the proud grandfather of Kyra Bugbee, Madison McCassie, Justice Rogers and great-grandson, Ronin.

Funeral services will be held on Friday February 25, 2022 at 11 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square in Turners Falls. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield. A calling hour will be held from 10 AM until service time.

Worked with and was a friend of Dick's when both worked at Bendix in Greenfield. Enjoyed bowling with him at French King Bowling Alley. RIP Dick.

Worked alongside with Dick for years at the S. Beloit plant. He was one person I relied upon to help me get a difficult job done correctly. We had a bond built upon mutual respect. I considered him as a true friend and am saddened at this time.
