B. Reeves Obituary

B. Dwayne Reeves

B. Dwayne Reeves, 76, passed away on March 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Dwayne was born in Porterville, CA, and was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lola Reeves, and father, Boyd Reeves. He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Mary Reeves, his loving children, Brian Reeves and Amanda Reeves, and sisters, Jan (Dennis) Parnell and Rhonda Stanton. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he cherished.

Dwayne served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971, including time spent in the Vietnam War. His service was recognized with several honors, including the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Expert (Rifle) qualification.

Dwayne has been a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) since 2008, honoring the bond he shared with fellow Veterans who had served overseas. He was also an active member of American Legion Post 31 for 28 years.

A huge sports fan, Dwayne proudly supported all of the Bay Area teams, but his heart belonged to the San Francisco 49ers. Some of his fondest memories were made at games, tailgating with his wife, kids, and close friends, creating unforgettable moments filled with laughter and camaraderie.

Beyond his love for his family and friends, pride of his military service, sports and music (even the occasional karaoke performance) were all an important part of his life bringing him happiness and connection. His family was his greatest pride, and he loved them with everything he had. Whether offering words of wisdom, sharing a joke, or simply being present, Dwayne had a way of making his family feel special and loved.

To those who knew him, Mello-D was the perfect name. He was a gentle, kind, and loving spirit, always quick with a witty one-liner and an easygoing presence that made everyone around him feel welcome.

Dwayne's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be missed very deeply.

A private Full Military Honors Service will be held at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined.
