Donna Moore Obituary

Donna Mae Moore was born in Los Angeles in 1938. The loving daughter of Bill and Frances Selbach, Donna had 2 sisters.
Around 1949 the family moved to Downey where her father and grandfather built their new home. Donna took great interest in helping her dad with this project, as well as working on cars with him. She also learned excellent homemaking and cooking skills from her mother. From her incredible parents she picked up a great work ethic, and an overall ability to handle about any situation in life very well.
In 1957, Donna was married to Paul Hartman. The coupLe had 2 sons, Bill and Jeff. In 1966 the family moved to Taft where she expanded her interest in horses. Donna enjoyed riding, competing and showing horses as her main passion for the next 30 years. She was a terrific mother who did a great job of raising, caring for and loving her 2 boys.
Donna was an active member of the community of Taft, and a long term Office Manager at Roger Miller Insurance. She was a very competent and trustworthy employee and also served multiple terms on the Taft Water Board.
In 1982 her marriage to Paul ended, and she moved to Valley Acres. During the next 15 years both of her boys were married and had a total of 7 grandchildren, who she cared for and enjoyed greatly. "
In 1997, Donna started a relationship with and later married Dave Moore. She joined Dave in his Springville home and became very active in the community The couple enjoyed going to the coffee shop for breakfast nearly every day, as well as attending and participating in many community events. Donna volunteered at the local charity store known as the Patton House. She was a devout Catholic throughout her life. and enjoyed attending mass and events at the local church. Donna embraced Dave's 2 adult sons, their spouses, and 4 grandchildren as her own.
Being very artistic and creative, Donna was accomplished at crafting, sewing, cake making, and decorating. She would often help plan community events and weddings for her granddaughters, providing decorations and much of the food for hundreds of people. She will be remembered as someone who was very giving; the first to arrive and the last to leave,
Earlier this year, at the age of 82, Donna was diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease. Following a brief period of illness she passed on October 15, 2021 at her home, with family by her side.
Donna is survived by her husband Dave Moore of Springville, son and daughter in law Bill and Louisa Hartman of Murrieta, sister Judy Frost of Santa Maria, step son Brian and his wife Keli Moore of Bakersfield, step son Matt Moore and his wife Charlene of Visalia, nephews David and Dean Hood of Seattle, Washington, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her son Jeffrey Hartman of Bakersfield who passed away in August 2021.
In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Patton House in Springville, or to your favorite charity. Celebration of Life @ 12:00 PM followed by a lunch, will be held at the Springville Memorial Hall at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 30, 2021.
