Fernando Lujan Obituary

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Fernando "Fred" Lujan on January 12,2022; he was 75. Fred was born in Indio, CA to parents Fernando G & Esther Lujan.
Fred and his family moved to Thousand Oaks, California, when he was 12. Fred attended Thousand Oaks High School and met the love of his life, Suzanne Karels. On October 12, 1963, the couple married and renewed their wedding vows in Maui forty years later. Fred owned a very successful Landscaping business in Thousand Oaks. In 1977 he moved his family to Porterville.
Fred continued to Landscape in Porterville with his brother and later became a barber and opened his own shop known as Valley Barber Shop. Fred had many clients and enjoyed barbering.
Fred loved his family and was incredibly proud of all his grandchildren. Fred enjoyed watching their sporting events, traveling to Hawaii, and farming the pistachios he grew with his daughter and son-in-law. Fred will be greatly missed.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Esther. He leaves behind his wife, Suzanne Lujan of 58 years, son Michael Lujan (Mada) of Fresno, Daughter Michelle and son-in-law David Pengilly of Terra Bella, and daughter Melissa and son-in-law Anthony Giannetto. Fred has seven grandchildren, Mychal Lujan (Julie), Nicole Dahl (Jared), Megan Negus (Colton), Mason Pengilly (Kaina), Mia Pengilly, Madison Giannetto, and Ethan Giannetto, whom he loved to watch race and enjoyed being part of his pit crew. Fred was very excited to meet his greatgrandchildren, Sophie Dahl, Carson Negus, Audrey Dahl, Jaxson Lujan, Hailey Dahl, and twins Cason and Meadow Negus. Fred leaves behind his brother Frank Lujan, sister Esther Lujan, several nephews and nieces, and their families.
Fred loved celebrating the holidays, having a good glass of wine with his pasta, and wearing his favorite Stanford Wrestling hat. He was kind, a man of faith, and loved his church, St. Annes. Fred will be missed. There will be a small private gathering of family and friends at a date to be determined.
