Francisco Borunda Obituary

The Holy Rosary will be prayed on Monday, July 22 at 6 PM at Webb Sanders Funeral Home and Mass of Christian Burial will said on Tuesday, July 23 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church In Lindsay for Francisco Navarette Borunda, 86 of Lindsay who passed away July 17. Interment will follow the Mass at Lindsay Strathmore Public Cemetery.
Francisco Navarrette Borunda was born November 27, 1926 in Chihuahua City, Mexico. He was raised there by his mother Josefina Navarrette and his maternal grandparents until the age of 28. He had two brothers; Antonio and Manuel and three sisters; Belen, Alicia and Ester. He worked as a truck driver by trade until he moved to California where he gained permanent residency on March 23, 1954. Francisco has been a resident of Lindsay for over 50 years where he settled with his wife and raised his family. Francisco was first employed by Southern Pacific Railroad as a construction worker and then worked for the local Packing Corporations as a farm laborer until his retirement. Mr. Borunda was preceded in death by his beloved wife Martina and one son, Francisco Jr. He is survived by his three sons, Larry who is a truck driver for Foster Farms; Adolf who is retired MTA for CDC and Roy who is a Correctional Officer for CDC.; his four daughters; Ruth, Gloria and Martha who are all in the health care field and Carmen who is a homemaker. He also leaves behind more than 15 grandchildren.
Mr. Borunda enjoyed a close circle of friends until his death with whom he shared his love for music, especially "spanish boleros". He was known to his friends as "Don Pancho" and was known for always wearing his "fedora" hat whenever he went out to the casino or just to sit with his friends. He will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a hard worker, a man of faith, a good friend with a rambunctious attitude and especially as a man who always believed in good old fashioned values. He will be greatly missed by all. we love you "Pop".
Visitation was held on Monday, July 22.
Webb Sanders Funeral Home is incharge of all arrangements.
