Anthony "Tony" Silva, Jr. Sept. 14, 1956 - Nov. 2, 2019 Anthony "Tony" Silva, Jr., 63, entered into rest on November 2, 2019 in Elk Grove, CA. He was born on September 14, 1956 in Stockton, CA. He was a resident of Lodi for 25 years. Mr. Silva is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony, Sr. and Jane Silva; his sister, Kathi Hicks and his nephew, Jeremy Reese. He is survived by his stepsons, John Cobey and Conor (Trisha) Cobey; one granddaughter, Layla Cobey and his sisters, Karin (Bob) Fowler, Kim (Guy) Reese and Kellee (Mark) Schied, as well as 10 nieces and nephews and 17 great-nieces and nephews. Tony was a Fireman for Stockton Fire Department, Station 9, where he retired in 2009. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loyal fan of the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Raiders. He was a devoted friend, where if you were his friend, you were his best friend who he would do anything for. Tony was especially dedicated to family; his sisters, nieces, nephews and granddaughter meant the world to him. Tony will be remembered for his outgoing character, loving heart and giving spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the Silva family. A prayer service will be on Saturday, November 9th at 10:00 AM held at P.L. Many years ago my son, Michael Dunn -- a Stockton firefighter -- was on vacation in Ethiopia. I saw a small article in an Oakland paper about two firefighters dying in a Stockton fire. Since I was Michael's only link to what was happening at home, I called the department. It turns out it was Tony I spoke to, and he told me that it was a fire Michael would have been fighting if he had been home. Because of Tony, I was able to attend the Memorial, representing Michael who could not attend himself. I have always been grateful to Tony for being so compassionate with me at that sad time in the Stockton Fire Department's history. My condolences to all of his Family and Friends.

Hey Tony,
It's difficult to believe that you left us so soon. You were just beginning a new chapter in your life and didn't even get to fully enjoy your new motor home. It's amazing to me that we have been friends for more than 45 years and our relationship began over the love of cars. I still clearly remember you and I in your Camaro flying down Brookside in the fog. Crazy! I will miss our monthly phone conversations. Rest in Peace Tony.

Note to Tony's sisters: Could you please contact me 209 484-1428.

Hey Tony,
Hard to believe you left us so soon. You were just starting a new chapter in your life and didn't even get a chance to fully enjoy your new motor home. IT's amazing to think we've known each other for more than 45 years and our one strong connection was cars. I clearly remember the one time we were in your camaro flying down Brookside in the fog. Crazy! I will truly miss our conversations. Rest in Peace Tony.
