Arthur Elwin Deicke Sr. passed away on 23 December 2010. He was 82 years old. Born in Stockton, Art spent most of his later life in Riverside, but recently moved back to Stockton early this year. Art married Shirley Ann Dinubilo on June 4th 1950. Art was later called to arms with the US Air Force in 1952 and served his country honorably for four years, including 13 months in-country during the Korean War. During his time in the service, he made lifetime friends, several of whom survive him. Art performed a variety of jobs during his lifetime, but was most proud of his skills as a fiberglass mold-maker. Art was an avid golfer and enjoyed a cold beer after a round. Art fully retired in 2008.
Art is survived by his loving wife Shirley, his two children, Deborah and Art Jr., three grandchildren, one great-grandson and his sister Penny Van Buskirk.
A public service will be held on Thursday, 30 December 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. There will be no visitation. A private committal service will follow at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society of San Joaquin and Calaveras Counties, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204 or the American Diabetes Foundation, 2720 Gateway Oaks Drive #110, Sacramento, CA 95832.

He worked with my Dad for many years and we lost touch after my Dad passed away. He was such a good man and always had something nice to say to say about everyone. I just looked at some pictures of a Halloween party that my parent had and Art was all smiles!!! That is how I will remember him!!! I pray that his wife, Shirley and children, Debbie and Art Jr. are doing well. Think of you all often!
