Beth Bortner Obituary
Mar. 10, 1981 - Aug. 3, 2018
"Bethimae," died unexpectedly on August 3, 2018 in Stockton at the age of 37. She was born on March 10, 1981. Beth, her sister Holly, and "Aunt Jola" created their family on June 17, 1990 in Louisiana and moved to Stockton in 1992. Beth loved church activities, youth group, summer mission trips, summer camps, singing, and musicals. She graduated from Franklin High School in 2000. Stellar moments in her life included serving in AmeriCorps and California Conservation Corps, graduating from massage therapy school, serving as a camp counselor, and being "Auntie Beth" to her niece and nephew, Amelia and Gabriel Brigance. Beth enjoyed giving "In Our Own Voices" presentations for NAMI, making and selling jewelry, reading, and meditating. Beth was a creative and caring soul who was loved by many friends and by her family.
Beth was preceded in death by her beloved Grandparents, Helen and Owen Kuns and her "dad" Donald S. Clements. Survived by her mom, Jola Bortner, and sisters, Holly Bortner Brigance (Joe Brigance), and Rebecca Clements; her Aunt Paula Clements as well as extended and adopted family.
Her life will be Celebrated at 2pm on Sunday, August 19th at Central UMC, where she was a member. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Beth Bortner Conference Summer Camp Scholarship Fund at Central UMC or to an environmental charity of your choice.
