Eugene "Tyree" Johnson was born in Centerville, Texas on May 25, 1933. He entered the Army in 1953, where he was a cook. He was discharged with honors. Eugene "Tyree" along with his wife, Esther, later moved to Stockton, CA where they opened their own Residential Care Home, "Tender Loving Care". He departed this life on Sunday, March 26, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie Pearl and Lemon Johnson; daughter, Wynona Lenard; grandson, LaRon Johnson; granddaughters, Nykeah and Rayshawn Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Esther Johnson; mother-in-law, Vernell Jefferson; children, Pastor Earl C. Johnson of Elk Grove, Ray Johnson, Michelle Banks, Belinda Holland, Tyree A. Johnson, Mario Johnson, Gary Johnson, Kashan Bell, Germaine Brown, all of Stockton, Sharee Johnson of OK; sister, Barbara of TX; sons-in-law, George Lenard, Doriss Banks, Maurice Holland (deceased), Edward Bell, William Brown; daughters-in-law, Vivian Johnson, LaRonta Johnson, Sandra Johnson, Alphere Johnson; 38 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, Kenyon Nelson; a special friend, Willis Tucker and a host of family and friends.
Services will held on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. at Greater White Rose Church, 2340 S. Pilgrim St., Stockton, CA 95206. Viewing will be on Monday, April 3, at Jesse E. Cooley Mortuary Chapel, 640 N. California St., Stockton from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
