Fred August Hofheinz
February 19, 1931 - July 25, 2009
Fred August Hofheinz passed away at his home in Stockton at the age 78. Fred was a loving father and husband that lived in Stockton for the last 30 years where he worked as a general contractor and cherry farmer. He was the son of German immigrants and was raised in Redwood City.
Fred served his country honorably in the Korean War and was awarded the Combat Infantrymans Badge. Fred was a gifted craftsman that enjoyed restoring Model A Ford cars and was also an avid snow and water skier.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Carol Hofheinzl; his sons Fred J. Hofheinz of Los Angeles, and William Hofheinz of Stockton; brother Martin Hofheinz of Stockton; sister Margaret Haug of San Jose.
Friends are invited to join the family in celebrating Freds life at a Memorial Mass and Reception on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., St. Michaels Church, 5882 N. Ashley Lane in Stockton. Inurnment will take place in a Private Committal at the Veterans Memorial, Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin County or Disabled American Veterans at www.DAV.org.
