My deepest condolences to Mary & family.
In 1960, I had the privilege of working in the District Attorneys office in the magnificent old dome courthouse in the center of Hunter Square. That was when I 1st met George.
Later, in private practice with Joe Rishwain Jr, our office was on Weber Ave. Around the corner on San Joaquin St. was the law offices of Spanos & Hakeem. Both George & Harvey Hakeem we're highly respected attorneys.
In the early 1960's local lawyers were a friendly & cordial group, in & out of the courtroom. We often have coffee together if we met outside the courthouse.
George Spanos was a gentleman of the highest order, a scholar of the law, a man of integrity & dignity. His trademark was a pipe he carried & smoked.
Mary & my wife, Pat, we're both active in the Lawyers Wives Club.
During these past few years, I got news of George & Mary, living in Rossmoor, from George's sister, Stella Graham.
George will long be remembered.

I worked for George for a short time in the early 80's. He was kind, thoughtful, considerate - very human - and a pleasure to work for. I'm sure he will be incredibly missed by his family. My condolences to all.
