Marshall Lujan, 90, passed away on January 15, 2009. He was born on September 19, 1918 to Benjamin and Frances Lujan in Carrizzo, New Mexico and came to this area 85 years ago. He owned and operated 3 taverns, The Clover Club, The Clinic, both located in the down town area and The Circus Room on the north side. He was past president of the Kiwanis club, member of the Stockton Elks Lodge BPOE #218, and the Stockton Moose Lodge #391.
Marshall is preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Evelyn Valverde, Margaret Alvarez and Clara Valverde. He leaves behind his wife Frances of 50 years; sisters, Stella Romo of Stockton, Frances Contreras of Fresno and many, many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church 2445 Country Club Blvd., Stockton, on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 11 am. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California, Stockton, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Committal will be at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 & Harney Lane, Lodi, following the Mass.

Marshall was a sweet gentle man, always enjoyed it when he came for his tacos and tuna sandwiches at Orlies Place. May god Bless Him

I was sorry to hear of his passing, he was a fine man. I always enjoyed visiting with him even if he always beat me at dice!

I am sorry to hear of Marshall's passing.He was a kind man and it was nice to know and work for him at the Circus Room.
