Sophomore year at The 'Burg Bob and I were on the JV baseball team. We were set to play a game against a local Virginia team. One of their players asked in a southern drawl-- "Where are the bathrooms at?" Bob looked over at me--laughed and snorted a little--and responded--"Over where the gophers are at!!" We laughed then and laughed about it a lot more over our years there. I have said that same line every time I have heard someone end a sentence with the word at. To anyone reading this it may not seem very funny, but to us it was hilarious. It was so very much Bob Day funny. Over the years when Bob and I would speak or the way too few times we would get together, when I heard his voice it would transport me back to the mid 60s and I would see a teenage Bob. His voice never changed and I would always see that Bob Day smile. I know I have said this before, but that is how much he has impacted my memories from school. I can still hear him call me Rosey. Bob I miss you so very much--Allan Rose--Mercersburg 1967

I worked for Bob since 2011 as his Legal Secretary at Day Law Offices. Bob is one of the kindest person and has the warmest heart. It saddens me to know that he is no longer with us. One thing I will always remember of Bob was his laugh. He's got the best laugh and it makes you just want to laugh with him. He was always joyful and happy. You will be truly missed and loved forever Bob.

I worked with Bob's wife Bjo for over 10 years and I recall with fondness their phone calls which sometimes got us laughing uproariously. I never met Bob, but I knew through Bjo that he was a great guy and very, very funny. My sympathies to Bjo and your family for your loss.

I am saddened by this news. Prayers to your family. ♥♥
I worked with Bob in the 80's at Union Pacific Railroad. Bob would often talk lovingly about his children and his lovely wife. Rest In Peace friend ♥

My roommate and best friend at Mercersburg--I will forever miss you. Even though as we got older and our physical outside changed, every time I heard your voice and your infectious laugh I was immediately transported back to our teens at The 'Burg. We would go years without speaking and yet with our first words it was as if we just spoke an hour earlier. Life provides us with too few friends like that. At every reunion I would be asked several times "How's Bob doing?" I would always fill everyone in on our last conversations. You were loved by many and will be missed. I hold dear to my heart our last meeting at Christmas time a few years ago. Be at peace my friend.

May my best friend in our younger days, and terrific partner in our crazy Mercersburg and college period rest in peace. I will remember you always with a smile on my face. I am sure your family knows how special you were.
