I’ll miss you Walt, your guidance through the VA claims process has been invaluable to me. I would not have my own home if it weren’t for you. You would always say “it’s a good feeling” to have the blessings God has given us. You were always cheerful and immensely helpful with any concerns I may have had. I owe everything to you, God gave me His best when I needed it the most. I’m thankful for your generosity of spirit and knowledge. I hope to follow in your footsteps as an advocate for our fellow veterans. I’m so very grateful and humbled to have called you friend.

Deacon Walter Compton was a caring and kind man. He loved God's people and the Greater Christ Temple Church. Many times, you could find him at the church working. I never heard him complain about anything. He was also my god brother through Dr. Artie Walker. Walter, you will be missed.
Family, you have my prayers and condolence. I pray that God will give you peace.

Walter was a great man of God. He was quiet and very caring. He loved Grester ChristbTemole and the people of God. If it was in his power to do, he would do it. You could always find him at the church working.
He is slso my godbrother. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Walter's passing. I have known Walter from 7th grade at John Marshall Jr. High through graduation from Edision in 1965. We were in band together all through high school. I reconnected with him when he joined the American Legion Karl Ross Post 16. He used to give me hard time about being in the Navy. We had such a good time catching up with each other at the planning committee meetings for our 50th high school reunion. Walter was a good man, a Godly man. I will miss his sense of humor and his smile. Prayers and love go out to his family and many friends. Fair winds and following seas my friend. You rest easy soldier, we have the watch now. God bless and keep you Walter, until we meet again.
