Albert Mitchell Obituary

Kingston, NY

Albert F. Herbie Mitchell, 87, of Kingston, died at the Kingston Hospital on Sunday, March 7, 2010.

He was born in East Kingston on March 18, 1922, the son of the late Frank and Theresa (Zoda) Mitchell. He was the husband of Margaret Peggy MacDonald Mitchell.

He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of Joyce Schirick Post #1386 VFW. He had been employed by Hudson Cement as a truck driver, and with his wife, Peggy they owned and operated the Trolley Diner and the Jury Box where he was the short order cook. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife he survived by his children, Albert F. Mitchell, Jr. and his wife, Dorothy of Sawkill, Robert A. Mitchell and his wife, Karen of Port Ewen, Earl J. Mitchell and his wife, Leslie of Town of Ulster, Eugene M. Mitchell and his fiance, Kristi of Wappinger Falls, Darlene G. Neitzel and her husband, Cornell of Lords Valley, PA and a sister Helen Walker of Orlando, FL., eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Entrusted to the care of the A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, the family will receive their friends on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.

The service will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Tom Hartley, officiating. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery with full military honors prohibited by Joyce Schirick Post # 1386 V.F.W.
