Carlton Reinshagen Obituary

Neversink, NY

Carlton "Carl" Reinshagen, a lifelong area resident, died suddenly on May 7, 2008 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 84.

The son of the late Karl and Grace Smith Reinshagen, he was born December 21, 1923 in Bethel, NY.

Carl was a member of the Claryville Reformed Church and the Consistory of the Dutch Reformed Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and belonged to the Russell D. Sprague American Legion Post #109, Liberty, NY.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Bernhardt Reinshagen, at home: two sons, Clifford Reinshagen of Pasadena, CA and Kenneth Hessinger and wife, Donna of White Sulpur Springs; four daughters: Joyce Decker of Accord, Patricia Reinshagen of Monticello, Carrie Karsch and husband, Will of Parksville and Laurie Marrone of Hawthorne, NJ; one sister, Marie Hiemel of Green Island, NY; eight grandchildren: Renee Decker, Amy Stetka, Robert Decker, James and Edwin Hessinger, Melody Marrone, and Sarah and Heather Karsch; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers: Herman, Alfred and Edward Reinshagen.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Claryville Reformed Church in Claryville, NY. Funeral services will be at noon at the church with the Rev. Lorena Parrish officiating.

Burial will take place at Claryville Cemetery following the services.
