Cyril Bruce Obituary

Cyril Bruce, of Greenwood Lake, a longtime resident of the area, having relocated here from Brooklyn in 1975, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick. He was 90.

The son of the late Peter and Elizabeth Lamb Bruce, he was born on June 12, 1914 in Newfoundland. He came to the United States in 1927.

He was the widower of Mary Bruce who predeceased him in 1999.

A Veteran, Mr. Bruce served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1443 in Greenwood Lake where he served as commander from 1978 to 1979. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Cittadini of Long Island, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.

Visitation hours will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 4 at the Strong-Basile Funeral Home, 4 Oak St., Greenwood Lake.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake.

Burial will be held in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Warwick.
