Dominick Giglio Obituary

Dominick Atilio Giglio, of Maybrook, died May 3, 2005 at Westchester Medical Center. He was 78.

Son of Adeline Capparella and Joseph C. Giglio of Maybrook.

Dominick was a member of The Church of the Assumption, Maybrook. He was a life-member of the V.F.W. of Maybrook. He was also a 50-year member of Maybrook Engine Company Number 1, serving in the Fire Police. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, serving in the Pacific on a Battleship. Member of the Maybrook Golden Links Senior Citizen Group. He retired from New Haven Railroad System. He also worked as an inspector in the paddock at Monticello Raceway.

Survivors wife Katheryn Cable Giglio at home; son Joseph James Giglio and companion Liz Maher of Walden; daughter Kathleen Aguele and husband Lenny of West Windfield N.Y.; granddaughter Marie Elizabeth; brother Frank Giglio of Walden; brother John Giglio of Maybrook; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday May 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 7 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of The Assumption, Maybrook, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maybrook Fire Company, Charles Street, Maybrook, NY.

Arrangements by Millspaugh Funeral Directors, Walden.

I worked with Doonie on the railroad, he was fun to be around and enjoyed playing knock rummy during the down times. Didn't realize he was a U.S.N. vet of the Pacific War , wish I knew more about him.

Even though it has been many years since I've seen "Doonie" He has and always will be a special part of me. My deepest condolences to all of you. I'll never forget that trip to Shea Stadium.

My condolences to the Giglio family.
I served aboard ship with Dom I called him Joe. reason being I knew his uncle with same name. He had a nice quiet manner about him and enjoyed our little talks on board.
