Doris Rolston Obituary

Doris C. Rolston, 83, of Damascus Township, and formerly of Port Jervis, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at St. Joseph's Place at the Bon Secours Hospital, Port Jervis. She is survived by her husband, Roy W. Rolston, the couple were married June 12, 1954. Born July 31, 1922 in Fallsdale, Pa., she was the daughter and last surviving member of the late Lanty and Mae Wood Coulter family. She was a graduate of Port Jervis High School, and attended Ryder University for one year. Doris was a devoted and meticulous bookkeeper working for the R.C. Lain Insurance Company in Port Jervis until retiring. She was a former member of the 1st Baptist Church, Port Jervis, a member of the Calkins Union Church and a former Girl Scouts Assistant Leader. Also surviving are a son, Roy W. Rolston Jr. and wife, Theresa of Tyler Hill, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Trad, Evelyn Loven and Laura Bartels; and a brother, Kenneth Coulter. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Allentown Office, 501 N. 17th St., Suite 212, Allentown, Pa. 18104. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St., Honesdale, Pa.
