I just learned of Ed's passing. When looking at old Liberty HS yearbook photos, I put his name in Google and saw the obit. I felt sad. I was his student in algebra in 64-65 school year and he got me through the Regents with an 84. He was a great teacher and a wonderful man. One of my best teacher ever. Liberty HS class of 1966. Later in the early 70's I returned to Liberty as a Spanish and ESL teacher and worked with Ed. A prince of a man! I'll always remember him fondly. Rest in Peace good man!

I worked with Ed for the past 14 years as a volunteer tax preparer for /the AARP/IRS Tax-Aide program for seniors and lower income people. Ed was truly the "Father" of the program for Sullivan County, and it was dear to his heart. He was my mentor, and we became good friends over the years. I enjoyed the many lengthy discussions we had on a wide variety of topic, ranging from sports and local history to politics. We worked well together, and I will certainly miss him.
