My Uncle Harry was a rare jewel. A man of simple and quiet taste, I don't know if he ever did anything nice for himself. However, if anyone asked him for help, he would drop everything and help, no questions asked. Such generosity of spirit. It has been moving to hear the stories from his friends and neighbors about his quiet acts of kindness. To the very end, he marched to his own drumbeat. I will miss his laugh, his bear hugs, the mints he always kept in the truck for us when we were kids, the way he could put away mashed potatos, and in response to the annual Christmas card, his card with the note "Thanks for the card. Harry." Uncle Harry, I hope you know how much you were loved, because you were, and I miss you so much already.

All of the above perfectly describes Harry. I speak for The American Legion Post, 488 of Monroe, NY. It was Our Honor to say, "Goodbye" to a friend and Comrade. May He rest in peace for his Service to Our Nation and all of us Americans. Amen.

To Harry's Family and Friends,
We are so saddened to hear about Harry. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during your time of grief. We were truly fortunate to have known Harry whom we met years ago through a friend Roberta who Harry had dated for many years. They were truly a pair and should of married years ago. We all shared so many wonderful memories either at our home-Harry use to bring over cheese-doodles-he loved them, or going out to the Silver Dollar in Monroe or to Peppy's and Eddy's. Harry was such a kind, gentle and caring man. We will never forget his great sense of humor and will always remember his laugh that would always get us laughing. Harry had a special way about him and a gentleness within. I moved from Monroe to North Carolina about 2 years ago and had the privalage of speaking to Harry about a month ago. I was thinking about him and decided to give him a call to say hello....well after all these years..Harry was still that gentleman he was, with the same great personality and the same laugh. He truly brought a smile to my face and we talked about all the good old times. Harry was a very good man and a Blessing to all that knew him. May he now rest in peace. May God Bless you all and bring comfort to all of you in your time of sorrow.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Uncle Harry was a very kind and funny person, I was lucky enough to see him on almost a weekly basis, when my Father, (Greg Jones) brought my sister and I to visit our Nana (Leota Stitt) every Sunday, on High street. He will be greatly missed.

To Harry's Family & Friends,
I've known Harry my entire life having lived a house or two up on High St. Billy Johnson and I would help Harry feed the rabbits he kept in the back yard. All fond memories of Harry and growing up in Monroe. Rest in Peace Harry.
