Jeremy Carney Obituary

Jeremy Michael Carney, 31, a resident of Deer Park for the past four and a half years and previously of White Fish, Mont., died Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip.

Born in Syracuse on February 27, 1975, he was the son of Brian and Debra Sheets Carney.

He was a self employed craftsman and he graduated from F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.

Throughout Jeremy's short life he was able to experience things most could never dream of. It started thirteen years ago when he began his journey by traveling across the United States trying to see and experience all he could. He never stayed in one location very long, always wanting to see what else was out there.

Of all the experiences and accomplishments Jeremy made, there was none he was more proud of than being a father. Jeremy had many things he was passionate about such as reading and music, but his true passion in life was his daughters. He loved being their Daddy.

Survivors include his mother, Debra and step-father, David Rajczi, of Red Hook, N.Y.; father, Brian Carney of Pine Bush, N.Y.; two daughters, Angelina and Madeline, both of Rocky Point, N.Y.; maternal grandparents, Nancy and Willard Boyce of Staatsburg; paternal grandparents, Carol and Andrew White of Longs, S.C.; brother, Nicholas Carney of Red Hook; two sisters, Tara Carney of Poughkeepsie, and Shanell Robertson and husband, Steve, of Raleigh, N.C.; two nieces, Taylor Robertson of Raleigh, and Keira Myers of Poughkeepsie; nephew, Griffin Robertson of Raleigh; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Harry Sheets, and his paternal grandfather, Gerard Carney.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2007 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 17th in Union Cemetery, Rte. 9G, Hyde Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 301 Manchester Rd., Suite 105, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
