I would like to give my condolences to the Jenkins Family. Anyone that grew up in Monticello knew Jesse. He would always make you laugh, keep you in order and still doing all of that, he was respected by anyone that had the pleasure to come into his life. He will be missed by all. Best of all to the family. Give mom a big hug and kiss for me please.

I will never forget you all , I also had the deepest and fondest menmories at school Also Darlene. He passed his sport ability to all his children. So he is here to me though them . Marky showed us how to swim. Jessica and Neicey along with the Watson girls showed us how to cheer. Ronald was one of the all Stars. Gordon followed in his foot steps. Jesse Jenkins was really very proud of Gordon making history there. My father was one of the mentors there for one of the many great black fathers that reared their children in the hard to live mountains. They made it easy for us. Not to take anything away from the women like Marie Jenkins whom also is a great honor to our black history. That another story. We were more than friends in Monticello, especially when you know some- one over 40 years. We were all one big family. Thanks to all the Monticellicans for being a family to me. Vanessa Dumas Davis

To the Jenkin Family. I have warm memories of your family and our childhood. Your dad and Mom never had a problem sharing snacks and drinks to the spring street and clinton avenue crew. Your father was a kind harted soul.

Jessie was a second father to most of us, he watched over us in school and in the neighborhood. We all loved him and will miss him very much, but he will never be forgotten. He was and is a part of us and we are glad to have known him and his family.

What we remember the most was taking turns going shopping to Walden every two weeks in that big blue station wagon. He made sure each child had a chance go and not be left out. He always sat in the yard watching over all the neighborhood children making sure we were safe. We Loved the Jenkins family, our family and will keep you in our prayers
