Joanie was born December 1, 1959 in West Point, the daughter of Patricia A. Dunlap and the late Lloyd "Pete" Dunlap.

A family statement reads: "Joanie was always full of life. She loved her family and her many friends. Her strength and determination to get well over the past several years was an inspiration to all of us. We love her dearly and will miss her corny jokes and the love and laughter she brought to us all."

Dunlap of Highland Falls; her brothers, James Dunlap and Ricky Dunlap of Highland Falls; her sister, Mary Ann Lewis and her husband, Sam of Louisville, KY; nephews Clayton Lewis and Darran Lewis of Louisville, KY; her aunt and uncle, Joan and Fred Brennan of Highland Falls; several aunts and uncles, cousins and dear friends.

There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main St., Highland Falls, on Saturday, May 15, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jack Arlotta officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Middle Hope.

Adam, Brandon & family:I realize it's been years since you guys moved out of Orange County, but please accept my condolences on the loss of your beloved wife & mother. Joanie was a sweetheart, a lot of fun to be around. I'll always remember bowling against her on Friday nights in the scratch league at Bowling Time all those years ago. May she rest in peace & may God give you strength to carry on through this difficult time. God Bless & love
