John Luongo Obituary
John P. Luongo of Liberty, NY, a retired marble finisher for Local #7 in New York City and a long time area resident, died Monday, November 16, 2009, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 67.
The son of Anna Grossi Luongo and the late James Luongo, he was born January 18, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY.
John was an avid New York Jets fan and in a family statement, it was said, "Thanks for the advice."
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Rayano Luongo, at home; four sons, John Luongo and his wife, Donna of Deer Park, LI, Michael Luongo and his wife, Teresa of Highland Mills, NY, Dominic Luongo and Michelle Uzzo of Yonkers, NY, and Salvatore Luongo and Lina Lim of Ozone Park, NY; his mother, Anna Luongo of Ozone Park, NY; two grandchildren, Gianna Luongo and Michael Luongo, Jr. John was predeceased by one sister, Grace; one brother, Dominic.
Visitation will be today, Wednesday, November 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 19, at 12:15 p.m. in St. Peter's R.C. Church, 264 North Main St., Liberty, NY. Monsignor William Collins will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Cold Spring Rd., Liberty, NY
