Leonard Williams Obituary

SMITHFIELD - On April 15, 2002, in the comfort of his home, with his faithful wife, Dolly, and family by his side, angels were dispatched to take Leonard Eugene Williams from his earthly home of 20431 Lankford Lane, Smithfield, Va., to receive his gift of eternal life from his Heavenly Father. Leonard was the son of the late Wiley and Lucille Scott Williams. He was affiliated with the Christian Home Baptist Church, Windsor, and worked diligently in the music and deacons ministry. Leonard was a retired employee of The International Longshoreman Local 1248 as a Dock Foreman. He was also one of the original members of the Golden Keys Quartet of Windsor, Va. He has left to cherish a collection of memories his wife, Dolly Williams; three daughters, Lisa, Rita and Gloria; three sons, Love, Lucky and Jonathan; two sisters, Thelma Bagner (James) and Delma Robinson (Larry); one brother, Wiley Williams Jr. (Knightie); seven grandchildren; and many other loving relatives. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at noon Saturday, April 20, at Christian Home Baptist Church with Pastor Wendell M. Waller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday and a "Musical Tribute" will take place in Leonard's honor from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cooke Bros.-Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield, Va., with whom the final services have been entrusted.
