Mario Ronsini Obituary

New Windsor, NY

Mario A. Ronsini of New Windsor, a retired History teacher and guidance counselor for the Newburgh School system and lifetime area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 80.

Son of the late Alfonso and Maria D'Addio Ronsini, he was born July 6, 1928 in Newburgh, NY.

Mario graduated from both Siena College and SUNY Albany with Masters degrees. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1953 - 1955, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal with European Clasp, and the Good Conduct Medal. Mario was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, NY.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Ruth Fabiano Ronsini, at home; loving children: Mark Ronsini and his wife, Olga of San Diego, CA, Robert Ronsini of Montgomery and Ruth Ann Ronsini of New Windsor; his siblings: Jessie Ronsini, Frank Ronsini and his wife, Hope, Rose Angeloni, Helen McKeegan, and Joseph Ronsini and his wife, Joan of Cornwall; three grandchildren: Christine, John and Anna; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by three brothers: Carl, Nicholas and Richard Ronsini.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., today, Monday, October 6, at Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 7, in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions on Mario's behalf may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 25 S. Robinson Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550.
