Michael Trojan Obituary
Michael A. Trojan, 85, a lifelong area resident, died on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.
Born in Poughkeepsie on March 29, 1922, he was the son of Frank and Magdalen Jakubovis Trojan.
He served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during World War II in Italy and North Africa. Until his retirement, Michael was employed as the Manager of Human Resources and Industrial Relations for Lonestar Industries, Nyack for 30 years. He was an avid golfer and loved crossword puzzles.
On August 1, 1958 in Pleasant Valley, he married Barbara Arnhart who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Kathleen Virga and her husband, Michael of Hopewell Junction; his son, Gregory Trojan and his wife, Janice of LaCanada, CA; his brother, Charles Trojan of Fishkill; his grandchildren, Heather Crowley and her husband, Jeremiah of Los Angeles, CA, Michael W. Virga of Washington, DC and Emily and Andrew Trojan of LaCanada, CA; and his great-grandson, Cameron Sage Crowley of Los Angeles, CA. Michael was predeceased by eight of his brothers and sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery with military honors.
