Richard Riley Obituary
Richard F. Riley, Sr. passed away on December 24, 2006 in Cooperstown, N.Y.
He was born in Stamford, Conn. on November 26, 1942 to Lloyd and Anna Riley.
He lived in Rockland and Orange County for 28 years and in West Burlington, N.Y. for 15 years. He was a volunteer fireman in Central Valley for eight years. He loved deep sea fishing.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Claudia (DeMarino) Riley; three sons, Richard and wife, Karen Riley of Monroe, Brian and wife, Janine Riley of Lake Ariel, Pa., Michael Riley and companion, Laytana of Laurens, N.Y.; a daughter, Susan and husband, Peter Sorbera of Burlington Flats, N.Y.; a brother, James and wife, Kathleen Riley of Stamford, Conn.; two sisters, Marion Brooks of Bridgeton, N.J., Catherine and husband, Vito Romano of Stamford, Conn.; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Melissa, Kristine, Jasmine, Desirie and T.J. Riley, Peter, Meghan and Tanner Sorbera; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. at The Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, N.Y.
A funeral service will also be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 8:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Foundation.
