Ronald Beasley Obituary

Ronald J. Beasley, an area resident for 24 years and disabled for many years, died suddenly due to a massive cerebral hemorrhage on Friday, April 7, 2006, at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 59.

The son of Edna Beasley and the late Robert I. Beasley, he was born February 25, 1947 in Pearl River, N.Y.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.

A family statement reads: "Since suffering a heart attack in 1991, Ron assumed the role of "Mr. Mom," caring for his four youngest children. It gave him the opportunity to develop a wonderful bond with them. He was the ever-present driving force in our lives and his death leaves a great void. He especially enjoyed time spent on family vacations at the beach. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle."

Survivors include his wife, Anne (Fahy) Beasley; children: Ron Beasley Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Michael Beasley of Largo, Fla., Sandra Beauchesne and husband, Kevin, of Johns Island, S.C., Thomas Beasley and fiancée, Elizabeth O'Connor, of Cornwall, and Robert, Sarah and Kevin Beasley at home; grandchildren: Michael and Devin Beasley of Largo, Fla., and Matthew Beauchesne of Johns Island, S.C. He was awaiting the birth of his fourth grandchild due in July; brother, Robert Beasley and wife, Mitzi, of Goshen; ten nieces and 14 nephews. He will also be greatly missed by several brothers and sisters-in-law.

There will be no visitation.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3029 or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall St., 19th Floor, New York, NY 10005.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Anthony V. Cracolici of the Hudson Valley Funeral Home, Inc., 239 Quassaick Ave. (Route 94), New Windsor.
