STACY SCHAEFER Obituary

STACY MARY SCHAEFER

August 18, 2010

Pine Bush, NY

Stacy Mary Schaefer passed away in peace and love at her home in Pine Bush, NY on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. She was 57.

She leaves behind her husband of 29 years, Ronald Schaefer; daughter, Michelle McPherson and her husband, Stuart; two grandchildren, Lila and Sophie; sisters, Jessica Lange and Elizabeth Bernhardt; brothers, Richard Lange Jr. and Philip Lange and their families.

Born and raised in Tenafly, NJ in 1953 to Mary and Richard Lange, her family moved to Harriman, NY in 1967. Stacy and her family enjoyed annual vacations with extended family. These times created wonderful memories that fostered Stacys devotion for all things family. More than anything she loved to entertain family, with a passion for cooking and deep conversation. A lover of animals, Stacy was happiest to relax after a long day with a cat on her lap, a book and a glass of wine by her side.

Contributions in Stacys memory may be made to the National Humane Society and Kaplan Hospice.

Dear Ron and Michelle, and my cousins-Jessica, Elizabeth, Phil, and Rick.
I am so sad that we were separated by years and distance, and that now Stacy has been taken from us all. I will treasure my childhood memories of her running around with those beautiful long blonde braids. We can only wait for the reunions now with our moms and dads, Grandma Tice and sweet Stacy.

To Ron and family,

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Stacy was such a warm, kind and gentle person. It is unfortunate for me that I was not able to see more of you and Stacy over the past several years. I know that you your love for Stacy, and all of the many very wonderful memories of your life together will keep Stacy in your heart and mind forever.

Stacy always had a smile on her face. She had a warm heart and gentle manner that will be missed yet always remembered. I am so fortunate to have met her while working in DPE.

I have had the fortune of knowing Stacy and her family for over 25 years. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, most evident in her two beautiful grand-daughters, Lila and Sophie. My deepest, heartfelt sympathies go out to all of her friends and family.

Stacy and Ron welcome the first grandchild

Stacy was a wonderful human being- someone we can aspire to emulate. As Director of Instruction in DPE-USMA I was privileged to have shared work and time with her.She made us all better. Jerry Krause, Gonzaga University. ([email protected])

I send my deepest sympathies to Ron and Michelle, and to Jessica, Elizabeth, Rick, and Phil. I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember how I loved visiting my cousins on Sussex Lane; your house was so much more interesting than ours, especially that concrete swimming pool! I hope your own much more extensive happy memories of Stacy will carry you through this sad time.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Stacy and work with her on a daily basis from 1991 until 1995. She was the consummate professional and a trusted friend. She will be missed!
