Stephanie Pross Obituary

Oklahoma City, OK

Stephanie Pross, of Oklahoma City, OK, formerly of Marlboro, departed from this life at the age of 45 on Saturday, December 22, 2007, at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY.

The daughter of the late Hugo J. and Isabella B. (Oppedisano) Pross, Stephanie was born in Newburgh, NY. She grew up in Marlboro surrounded by her brothers and parents. She developed a love of the culinary arts by watching the joy that food and family brings. After high school, she relocated to Oklahoma where she developed her culinary skills by working in many restaurants and studying under the direction of many admired chefs. After some time, she switched careers and became a home health care aide where she provided home healthcare to the disabled. Stephanie was a strong, independent woman who faced her illness with courage and strength. After spending her life in Oklahoma her wishes were to come back to Marlboro for her final days. She touched many people's lives and will be missed by her family and friends in Oklahoma, as well as her family in Marlboro.

She is survived by four brothers: John and Diane Pross of Oklahoma, Ed and Stephanie Pross of Marlboro, NY, Ronald and Maryanne Pross of Marlboro, NY, Curt and Dreena Pross of Marlboro, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Brian Pross who died June 6, 2007; parents: Hugo J. and Isabella B. Oppedisano Pross.

Cremation was private and at the convenience of the family.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 29, at 2 p.m. at St Mary's Church, Route 9W, Marlboro.

The family requests that memorial donations be sent to The American Cancer Society, 523 NW 35th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.

My sincere sympathy for your great loss. Steph was one special girl. She gave me many happy hours with my Linda.
Although we all loved her greatly, God loved her best. Be assured that she's with her loved ones, and is the girl we all remember and love.
