Thomas Warnock Obituary
Thomas W. Warnock, Sr. of Lords Valley, PA, a retired police officer from the former Hudson County Police Department, entered into eternal rest after a long battle with cancer on November 5, 2009, at the Veterans Medical Center, Wilkes Barre, PA. He was 85.
The son of the late Thomas H. and Caroline (Iden) Warnock, he was born February 25, 1924 in Bayonne, NJ.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline (Patton) Warnock, at home; a daughter, Mary Ann Neamon of Matawan, NJ; a daughter, Wendy Fago and her husband, Michael of Montague, NJ; a son, Thomas W. Warnock, Jr. of Lords Valley, PA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Vincent's Church, Dingman Hills, PA; the Retired Police Benevolent Assn. Local 600; American Assn. of Retired Persons; Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Local 9832 and 3rd Degree; American Legion, 15th District Deputy Commander Post 807; V.F.W. Post #4909 Dupont, PA, and St. Vincent's Senior Club.
Tom is a member of the greatest generation having served in World War II in Europe, survived the D-Day invasion, and the sinking of the Joel R. Poinsett, a war-built Liberty ship.
Friends may call Sunday, November 8, at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, PA 18337, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent De Paul Church, on Monday, November 9, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to National Coalition For Homeless Veterans, 333 ½ Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC 20003.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Warnock many years ago when I attended Mt. Carmel school with his daughter Wendy. I remember him as a real character. Always joking with us and making sure we were staying out of trouble. it has been a long time since I last seen him but the memoires are very close to my heart. My thought and prayers go out to the family. You are all in my prayers.
