Abel "Jason" Jacinth, 87, of Anderson, California passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
Abel is survived by his three children, Rita (David) Jones, Michael (Cindy) Jacinth, and Anthony (April) Jacinth, three step children, two granddaughters Cecily and Alina, three step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and second wife, Edie in 2008.
Abel was born May 29, 1929 in Wailuku on the island of Maui, Hawaii to Mary (Santos) and Seraphin Jacintho. He left the island in 1948 when he enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War. In 1955, Abel enlisted in the US Air Force and later served in the Vietnam War. He was promoted to Technical Sergeant earning a Commendation Medal for his service. In the military, he was stationed all over the world, serving his country with honor until the mid-1970's.
After retiring from the military, Abel lived in Oroville with his first wife Janet, where he worked several years for the Clerk's Office of Butte County. After retirement Abel moved to Eureka and remarried. After his second wife, Edie, passed he relocated to Anderson. He enjoyed fishing, the horse track, and loved his family.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Northern California Veterans Cemetery at 11800 Gas Point Rd., Igo, CA.
