Anita Greer Obituary

Anita Greer

Anita Veronica Greer was born Sept. 22, 1914 in Grand Junction, CO and went into glory on May 16, 2015.

She married William C. Greer (a teacher in the Redding school district for 28 years) on June 23, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1999.

In her early married years she helped nurture physically challenged children. Living on a small ranch in Southern California she milked goats, made homemade cheese and raised chickens and enjoyed fresh eggs. She was active in her church seldom missing a chance to share her good cooking at many potlucks. She served as Sunday school superintendent, taught Sunday school classes to the young, attended many Bible studies both in and outside the church and was a regular attendee at missions conferences. She enjoyed talking about scripture and the hope it leads to by trusting Jesus.

She was a faithful member at Shasta Baptist Church and rarely missed any Wednesday or Sunday services.

She is survived by her 6 children: Edith (Milo) Raub of Platte City, Mo, Chuck of Redding, Ellen Ward of Newport Beach, Bill of Red Bluff, Ted of Redding and Clark of Forest, VA as well as 15 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

If you choose to honor her with a contribution we suggest the Shasta Baptist Missions Board. There will be a memorial service at Shasta Baptist Church at 6 pm, Sunday evening May 24th.
