Darth Allen Obituary

REDDING- Darth passed away at home on November 7, 2007 after a long illness. He was born in Yuba City, California, on December 14, 1942 and was raised in Hayfork, California. He lived in Redding for 45 years. After driving truck for 45 years he retired from Systems Plus Lumber company in December of 2004. He loved carpentry work, camping, fishing, old western movies and was the camp host at cattle camp in McCloud this past summer. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a young man. He was very respected by everyone who met him and would give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it. He built all his grandchildren toy boxes and dressers, re-built the kitchen in their home with his own two hands, and shared his talent with all of his family and friends. His wisdom was the greatest and his heart was strong and forever loving. He will be missed terribly, thought of often, and loved forever.

There will be no services conducted, but a "celebration of life" will be held in his honor at his residence on December 15, 2007. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was adored by all his loved ones.

He is survived by wife Judy Allen of Redding, Son and daughter-in-law Edward and Robyn Allen of Citrus Heights, Son Bill Allen of Redding, Daughter Tammy Allen of Redding, Brother and sister-in-law Everette and Pat Allen of Klamath falls OR., Aunt, Dorothy Mann of Redding, and seven grandchildren, Cody, Dustin, Sabrina, Mariah, Mackenzie, Christopher, and Emily. Also his very loving canine companion, Shasta, who stayed with him until the end.

Dear Judy & Family: Jeannie and I send our heart felt sympathy to you and your family for the loss you have suffered. Sunday a week ago we cut the Anderson Community tree and I always think of Darth when it came to unloading the tree in the Perko's parking lot. Darth was a wonderful person and I always enjoyed spending time with him. I always called him from home on Sundays and nothing would stop him from coming down to help. I'm sure this is going to be hard on all of you. Hold on to the wonderful memories they will nevery go away.

To Judy, Darth's children and grandchildren;

I haven't seen Darth for about 40 years. When I was a youngster my family lived in Hayfork and we used to visit with Darth and his Grandparents a lot. My brother is close to Darth's age and I am younger, but they used to let me tag along. We played in the barn and hiked and fished along the creek that ran through the Dinhoff place. Darth and my brother would catch fish and put them on my line to make me think that I had caught them. We had some great fun! Knowing how my heart feels just now; I know that your hearts are hurting much more. May God bless you in your time of need. We can take comfort in the fact that we had the opportunity to know and appreciate one of God's choice sons and that we will see him again before too long.
