Diane Tomicich Obituary
Redding, CA
Diane Arlene Tomicich was born July 30, 1948, in Yreka, CA to J D and Gertrude Free. She passed away on April 6, 2018, at home in Redding, CA, after a long illness.
Diane lived in Mt. Shasta, CA, until the age of 7 when her parents moved the family to Redding, CA. Diane attended Pine Street School, Rother Elementary, Parsons Junior High and was a 1966 graduate of Enterprise High School, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. Diane spent the majority of her working career with Caltrans, retiring in 2000.
Diane married Vince Tomicich on May 23, 1987. Diane and Vince enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time outdoors, including hunting for agates along the beaches of Northern California and Southern Oregon. Diane especially enjoyed spending time on the coast where they maintain a home on the Smith River.
Family was everything to Diane. She is survived by her husband, Vince Tomicich, sons Cullen Kreider (Michelle) and Jim Kreider (Cindy), Step-daughters Lori Tomicich and Kelly Tomicich (Jim), sisters Shirley Funk (Don) and Barbara Pike (Bill), six grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Dignity Health Hospice for all the support they provided Diane.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Redding, CA, on April 19, 2018. A reception will immediately follow at the church reception hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America (pva.org).

The World has certainly lost one of its most beautiful people. I can't help but feel that there is now a hole that will never be filled. I have nothing but happy and great memories of her to look back on. May you rest happily and peacefully Diane.

Diane and I attended school together from Rother, Parsons, and Enterprise. I always admired her outgoing spirit and energy. We also worked together at Caltrans in Construction and Design. I am sad that she was ill for so long, and I know that her illness was a deep frustration to her. Her spirit will remain strong, as those who knew her will not forget her.

im trying to find the right words to say about this sweet little lady. I have so many memories of Diane, from cheering our Hornets J.V. Basketball team on to wins to playing women's slow pitch softball together and later sitting in the bleachers as moms rooting for our sons, Jimmy and Jeff, as they played little league baseball.. I'll always remember her devotion to her boys and her positive outlook on life. I was thrilled that she and Vince found happiness together....both such special people. Prayers for comfort to all her family.. Heaven has a sparkling new star to brighten our sky.

My sweet Aunt Diane and birthday triplet, how I'll miss you. You have always been so special to me, so kind and full of energy. You and your sweet laugh and beautiful smile will be dearly missed. What a courageous battle you fought. And to my Uncle Vince that was always by her side and took such loving care of her especially during her illness, I am so sorry.
