Elsie Knifton Obituary

Elsie R. Knifton
A native Californian, Elsie R. Knifton, passed away quietly September 25, 2009 at the home of her son, Carl, in Paso Robles. Elsie is now with her Lord in heaven. Elsie was born November 29, 1917 in Long Beach to Carl W. and Anna L. Taylor. She was married on August 25, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona to Thomas O. Knifton who was in the Air Force. She had four sons, Johnny, Carl, Steven and Wayne. Her loving husband Tom and her son Johnny, preceded her in death. She is survived by sons Carl, Steven, Wayne and her sister Florence Crljenica.
Elsie knew what it was to have her husband fight in World War II overseas. She moved to Cottonwood, California in 1952 where she lived until the last 5 months when she moved to Paso Robles. She was active in the Garden Club, Harvesters at Neighborhood Church of Anderson and Cottonwood and West Valley Volunteer Fire Station Auxiliary. She enjoyed her gardening, watching and feeding her birds, and reading.
She has nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Elsie's inurnment will be October 16th at 2:00 p.m. at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo. She will be laid to rest next to her husband.
A memorial service followed by dinner will be held October 17th, 2009 at 5 p.m. at the Neighborhood Church of Anderson and Cottonwood.
