Fred Clarizio Obituary

Fred Anthony Clarizio

1951 - 2013

Fred Clarizio was born April 30, 1951 at the Queen of Angels Hospital Monterey Park, CA., beloved son of Vincent and Ann Clarizio.

Fred passed away suddenly on August 26, 2013 in Anderson, California.

Fred was a hard working man of many talents. He was raised working in his parent's deli in La Habra. He was an accomplished musician, playing in fine resorts in Palm Springs, California. Fred was also licensed in three building trades: B, C20, C10, and owned Phelan Air in Southern CA.

Fred and his wife, "Sam" (Pat) moved to Anderson and opened Air Care. He also built several homes. When building slowed, Fred decided to "go out like he came in", and opened Clarizio's Antipasti & Deli. When asked "Why Anderson?" he would laugh that wonderful laugh of his and say, "Why not?" He loved the pines and mountains of Shasta County.

He is survived by: his wife, Sam, mother, Ann, children, Cheree' and Cory, and two sisters, Gina and Joanna.

Fred was a wonderful and compassionate soul whose passion was reflected in everything and person he touched.
His magic will be missed.

Memorial donations may be made to ACCA in Anderson or Haven Humane.

Those of us who knew Fred from the construction business knew that building things was his first love. He was happiest when he was hammering and sawing... He once told me that the best day of his life was the day he left behind the food industry of his youth to become a carpenter... and that if he ever had to go back to that profession, it would be the death of him. When the construction business turned bleak a few years ago, Fred found himself back in the food industry... Sadly, I am remembering his words with an aching heart, as they were eerily prophetic! Fred, wherever you are, I hope there are plenty of nails and wood around for you to work with... and I hope you know sweet peace and contentment. I send you off with the piece of my heart that will always belong to you, and the verse to the song you used to sing to me -- "I said I love you and that's forever. And this I promise from the heart. But I couldn't love you any better. I love you just the way you are..."

Dear family member, we are a small group of praying Christians who meet weekly for bible study and prayer. We are all members of Neighborhood Church on Ronda Rd. in Anderson. Because we are members of your community and are grieved by your loss, we are going to pray for your family and ask God thru Jesus Christ our Savior to bless your families and to return your joy as time passes. We in the group have all expierenced the death of loved family members and know what a troubling time it can be. We will pray you might be drawn to our Jesus Christ and come to a peace that is far past the understanding of this world we live in. We will pray and expect that our Lord will give you peace!l Love from our small group.

I was shocked & sad when I found out about Fred's to early passing. I worked with him on the plans for his restaurant. He was passionate about using only the highest quality food for his future patrons. He worked hard for this project. Any one who ate there had great praise for the taste of the food served. I enjoyed talking to him. I am glad to have known him.

We so enjoyed Clarizio's meals but especially because Fred's warm welcome made it feel like being home. Too soon. He left too soon. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

We will always remember the wonderful times we had at Clarizio's - the many times we enjoyed the ambiance and welcoming feeling. Bob will never be able to hear or sing Torna a Sorrento or O Sole Mio without hearing an accordion and seeing Fred's smiling face looking at him and nodding. Our heartfelt condolences to Pat and all the Clarizio's staff. We will miss Fred so much.

Fred was one of my closest friends for almost 35 years. We started out as neighbors and building contractors and instantly became life long friends. After I moved to Northern Cal, Fred soon followed and we were once again working together, starting with his new home in Anderson. Fred was more than a friend, he was like a brother and I will miss him dearly. Be at peace my brother, there is no urgency now and you have earned the rest.

We've lost a good man. We came to know Fred during the past two years since he and his wife, Pat, opened their wonderful restaurant, Clarizio's. They were always there to welcome and thank us for coming to their restaurant. Fred's was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He was genuine and a caring man. His family and friends were his everything. I pray for Pat and their family during this difficult time. Our community has suffered a loss and I will miss Fred's friendly smile, welcoming ways and him letting me practice my Italian on him. God bless you Fred, we will miss you.
