James Pearce Obituary

REDDING- James E. Pearce, Esq. passed away September 19, 2007 at Shasta Regional Medical Center in the early evening. The cause of death was due to a massive heart attack, which occurred the morning of September 18, 2007.

He was known by many in the community as "Big Jim" and was a practicing criminal attorney in his own law practice, as well as a Public Defender, in the Redding area for over fifteen years.

Jim was born outside of Pittsburgh, PA and at the age of two, his family moved to Southern California. He graduated from Compton High School, in Compton, CA in 1964. He was a veteran and served in the US Nave from 1918-1972. He attended California State University, Los Angeles, and completed his Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Business Administration and went on to graduate from Western State University, School of Law, in 1979.

Beloved father of four surviving children, Andrew, Derek, Carin, and Shawn Pearce with former wife, Capri Pearce; and son of Judge James E. Pearce (father) and Marie D. Pearce (mother) of Nuevo, CA, along with two surviving sisters and two brothers: Joaynne, Judy, William, and John Pearce. He was also grandfather to three granddaughters: Savanna, Marissa and Anabelle, with one grandson: Kesterel.

Jim Pearce will be missed greatly not only by many friends but also his family who truly loved him.

The services for James E. Pearce, Esq. will be held at McDonald's Chapel, 1275 Continental Street, Redding, CA, Sunday afternoon, on September 23, 2007 at 1:30 p.m.
