Kristopher Buchanan Obituary

Kristopher Robert Buchanan

Born: February 13, 1985 in Redding, California
to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Buchanan,
Died: July 6, 2013 in Redding, California.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

God says, "they did not leave you...I removed them from you. You would have kept loving them and they would have kept killing you softly. Because you love so hard and completely, I had to rip them from your heart. I know it hurts right now, but we have destiny to get to and they were not the one for you to take there. But do not worry, I have a plan....says the Lord."

When we read this saying just a few days before he took his life, we never thought that he was to be taken from this world. We had hoped that it meant that we could help him but the Lord had better plans for Kris. He will now rest in peace.

Kris struggled with drugs since he was fifteen. Started with pills and escalated from there. There was no stopping him. He did everything to the extreme, until one day he could not return from the demons of drugs. He began to hate who he had become or who he was. Drugs so controlled his mind that he was not able to find out who he was.

If you care about your loved ones or yourself, please get the help you need before it is too late. No one should ever have to go through this self-destruction of life.

Kristopher is survived by his parents, Paul and Michele, Sister Jessica List (Jay), Niece Raeanna List, Grandpa Victor Brugliera, Grandma Nancy Buchanan, and numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and many extended families here in the North State.

No services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held later this year for those who loved and cared for Kris and knew the kind and loving person he was.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Kristopher's name to the Good News Rescue Mission, Teen Challenge, or any organization that helps with rehabilitating the addict.

Kris you will always be in our hearts. We love you. Mom and Dad.

I first met Kris when I started working at Lake Liquor. He was always so kind & polite. I instantly knew even tho he had his issues he had a heart of gold. I saw him about a month ago & he looked really good said he'd just come back from San Diego. He said he was kinda struggling but had to get away from down there. He was going to get better here. I'm so so very sorry he didn't find the help in time that he needed. My thoughts & prayers are with you all. God bless you all

Uncle Paul and Aunt Michele,

I am so sorry for your loss. Kris as a child was so loving and sweet, seeing the pictures brought me to tears. I had the chance to see him a few years ago when he stayed at my house. He was struggling with his addiction but he hadn't been using at the time. He was so loving toward my family and me. I didn't see this coming. I really believed that he would pull through. I pray that you find peace. I love you both so very much. Kris you will truly be missed.

Love,
Joy

My deepest sympathies to Paul, Michelle, and Jess. I have fond memories from many years ago when Kris was just a little crumb snatcher irritating his big sister to no end. I will always remember him as that rambunctious child full of life.

You don't know me but I share your pain and could not hold back the tears when I read your Son's obituary this morning. I know the pain and hopeless feeling of trying to save a son from an addiction of drugs. My son died at age 42 after being sober for five years but so many years of addiction took it's toll on his heart. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy, I will pray that you will find some comfort in your happy memories.

Paul, Michelle and Jessica,
I have such good memories of Chris. Everytime Mike and I came to visit he always showed up to say hello. He always made me feel welcomed and comfortable. He made me laugh and always had high hopes for his future. May he rest in peace, and my your faith help you three close in your sorrow and pain.
May Chris have no more tears,
