55 years of age, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2017 with his family by his side, in Redding, CA. Kurtis was born on October 22, 1961, in Moorhead, Minnesota.

He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Sharon McMaines of Redding, brother, Dennis McMaines, (Char), of Redding, sister, Janis Bodine of Redding, niece Alicia McNerlin, (Matt), of Old Shasta, niece, Abby Bodine and nephew Kamron Bodine of Redding, great nephew, Easton McNerlin, of Old Shasta, many cousins, and many, many friends.

Kurtis is preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Loree Harnden of Blue Lake, CA, Uncle Dwight and Aunt Carol Harnden of Blue Lake, CA, sister in law, Barbara McMaines of Redding, and nephew Kyle McMaines, of Redding.

Kurtis graduated from Shasta High School in 1980. He attended Shasta College and graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts.

For quite some time he had his own catering and DJ business. He loved making grandma's special cinnamon rolls at Christmas.

He enjoyed spending a lot of time with all his friends and going to many concerts.

Kurtis enjoyed riding anything with wheels from his Harley motorcycle to his wheelchair.

A graveside service will be held at Redding Memorial Cemetery, 1201 Continental St., Redding, CA, 530-241-2256, on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11 am. Reception immediately following at The Senior Citizens Hall, 2290 Benton Dr., Redding.
