Robert Leslie Griffin Sr.
1937 - 2013
Robert Griffin Sr. devoted Father & Grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Redding, California on June 28, 2013.
He was born in Alhambra, California to Ruben and Anna Griffin on January 9, 1937.
He moved to Redding in the late 1970's where he began a successful career in the real estate, mortgage and property management business. He retired from that business in December 2012.
In addition, he was a graduate of Bethany College in Santa Cruz and served in the U.S. Navy reserves.
Bob will be remembered for two of favorite pastimes-playing bridge and poker.
Bob was single and is survived by a son, Robert D. Griffin and a daughter, Nancy L.Thompson, of Redding and sister, Barbara Kimberlin of Red Bluff. He also leaves the loves of his life, his grandsons, Chris, Matthew and Joey Griffin and Jeremy and Kyle Thompson. Also survived by his great grandson, Devon Thompson. And great granddaughter, Kaylie Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his sister Toni Peters of Red Bluff.
Services will be held at McDonalds Chapel, 1275 Continental Street, Redding, California 96001 on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Ceremony at The Clubhouse at The Redwoods Mobile Home Park, 502 Redwoods Boulevard, Redding, CA.
He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Bob, it was a real "pressure" helping you at the bank (as you would say) and you will be very much missed! You always gave us bank gals a hard time but it was so much fun picking on you and having you pick on us just as much if not more! I will never forget you always calling me "hot rod" for my speed on the teller line. You will be missed bob!

My thought are with the remaining family. I had know Bob for 15 years, even stayed with him when I was in Redding for a fishing trip or for the brief period I worked with him. He lived to work and when he retired I was concerned about how he would deal with it. I am grateful that with his illness's he did not suffer or become incapicated. Bob was larger than life, I miss you Bob.

Aw Bobby ~ You always were larger than life. There will be a large void in our world. I find some peace in knowing you are currently structuring the largest real estate transaction ever performed in heaven. Love and condolences to Bobby, Nancy and all of his beloved Grand Children.
