Memories and Condolences
for Ronald Mancebo

Not sure what to say?

March 23, 2010

Dear Barbara,Petie,Kim,Chad& Tam. I am so glad I was able to talk to Skip just a few days before he passed away. Also when you Barbara were in the hospital, Jenny and I went to your Apt. and prayed with Skip. He was very receptive to us and prayer. So many good memories of flying, boating. No doubt in my mind he was the best pilot I ever knew. Went to dinner in your Rolls, flew to the Nut Tree in the Deb. Flew to Osh in the Twin. Such wonderful memories. Friends all these years. Hope to see you soon. God Bless you. Dean and Jenny Braucher

Dear Barbara and family, We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Skip. Ken knew him all through school and had nothing but good to say about him and his father, too. I knew him through my brother, Bud Harmon, who was one grade below him. Ken is fighting medical demons of his own and we pray for strength. Our thougths and prayers go out to all the Mancebo family and it was great to have known Skip.

Dear Kim and family, Doug and I want you to know that we are thinking of you at this time. I was remembering your dad selling me my first "cool" jacket at Sunwest[in 1974]! Growing up in McArthur-coming to Redding and shopping at Sunwest was the best. Kim,I think of you often and hope you are doing well in Reno. You and your family are in our thoughts.

Dear Barbara, Chad and family:
Rembering our "neighbors across the street" (many times have wished you were still there ) — the boys, Chad, Bill & Jason, playing together (sometimes having fun, other times fussing with each other) — and another silly thing Barbara, I think of you whenever I do chicken salad as we both liked chicken salad but not the making of same. You and Skip were great "across the street neighbors". Our condolences to you and your family.

Dear Barbara,
I was so sorry to read of Skip's passing. Phill used to call him fairly often to keep up with the old classmates and he truly enjoyed those conversations. I spoke with Skip a number of times in 2007 and 2008 as Phill was hospitalized for many months. Skip was very encouraging and had a wonderful phone voice. I felt a little better about things after speaking with him on those occasions. Phill and Skip had shared some similar medical problems, so he helped me to understand some things I was having difficulty with. The world will be a lesser place without your Skip. I said many prayers for both of you over the years, and I will continue to keep you in my prayers. May your good memories help to give you a little peace in the days ahead.

Dear Barbara, Tam, Kimberly and Chad: I am so very sorry to hear about Skip's passing. We have been thinking about all of you for years and was wondering where you had moved to. A lot has happened to our family. Mom and Dad are still alive. They are snow birds now. They bought my Grandma's house in Metaline, WA and live there in the summer and live in Desert Center, CA in the winter months. Ken has 4 daughters and 7 grand kids. Three were born last year. He is an EMT in Metaline. Ron has 2 boys and an adopted daughter. He was a cop in Gridley until this last Dec when He retired. Bob was in a major accident in 93 and is now an art teacher in Yuba City. He married his Physical therapist and she has a son. I am currently divorced but have a wonderful son named Joey. We will never forget you!!! Love to all of you...Laura Jean Moshiri (Moore)

Dear Barbara and family: Barb,I don't know what to say except I was stunned and taken back when I saw that Skip had passed away. Lots of memories come back at a time like this and I can honestly say that they are all good. Switching cars at Carmel, Elvis at Tahoe, The Pointer sisters at Tahoe, the late night card games. Our "rental" cessna 340 adventure. In many ways it seems like yesterday. It puts a smile on my face thinking about thoes times. Kerry and I are in the book, please call if you can. Skip and I grew up together in grade school and high school so I have many memories. The one I remember most is that the 20-30 Club in Redding used to have Soap Box Derbies down Placer St. Hill. I rode my bike from Wilshire Dr. to go see the Derby. Skip came running up to me when he saw me and told me that he and his car together were overweight and he wanted ME to drive his car. The officials allowed me one run down the hill for practice. I came in 5th place and Skip wanted me to take the trophy but I said no that he should keep it. My Dad thought it was to dangerous for anyone to come down the hill in the Soapboax Derby anyway. Well the next days paper showed one of the starts down the hill and I was in that race. Dad didn't say anything. Thanks for many memories. Gene Farley

Oh, Barbara, I am so very sorry to hear of your/our loss. Your man was a great, great person, even when he was being an imp in school. He always had a smile on his face and another antic up his sleeve. I enjoyed seeing you both at the reunions and was saddened to hear of his illness and his passing. All I can offer in the way of comfort is that you now have a wonderful, very protective angel on your shoulder to keep you from harm for the rest of your days. God's blessings.
