I worked at Beaver Medical with Dr.Carritte from way back to the early 2000's for nearly 15 years with him and his main nurse, Jackie. They taught me so much and I am so sadly shocked to know of his sudden passing in 2023. I am now finding out by accident a few years later. My deepest condolences and comisserations to his wife, daughter, family, and friends. He is deeply missed.

My wife was a lifelong nurse and spent much of her career at the med Center in Loma Linda Working 12 to 18 hour shifts. Anyways one morning on her way to work she realized she was in Stater Brothers instead of the hospital. She was just so stressed all the time. Anyways... On her next visit with Dr. Carritte She laid that little incident to him thinking that he would find that funny. His response was a very serious...Oh really...
Kind of like thinking.. this lady needs a psych consul.
Anyways we always had a good laugh about that.

Dr. Caritte was my doctor over 30 years ago and I still remember him as my favorite. He said something to me I´ll never forget and has helped me through my entire life. So sorry to hear of his passing.

My wife and I always tried to make him crack a smile or laugh but he was pretty serious. Until this joke.
How do you make holy water?
You boiled the hell out of it. He finally laughed.
My wife was a dialysis nurse her whole life barely had a couple years of retirement and she died just like Dr did they spent their whole lives healing other people. The Bible says life is like a vapor, no truer statement.
And life just isn't fair to those who need it to be fair. Best doctor ever

I knew Jim when he was a student in the UCR/UCLA Biomedical Sciences Program, what is now the UCR School of Medicine. He was in our second class. He was a favorite. Very nice, smart, personable, and, of course, a good looking kid. Everyone liked him, from his professors to his peers.

Dr. Carritte was truly one of a kind as a doctor and friend. He was our family doctor for over 30 years. He was always interested in each of our family members, concerned with our health when we lost a family member, never rushed through our appointments, and every December I would bring him a batch of my homemade peanut brittle he loved. We are brokenhearted to hear he passed away and didn't enjoy more years of his retirement.
Our prayers are with his family with the loss of Jim and his son too.
God be with you all.

He was our family physician for 20+ years. He was always kind, caring and helpful. My son upon receiving his school yearbook one year brought it to him and asked him sign it. Dr. C. was flattered and tickled when he my son handed him the yearbook and he happily did sign it. That´s how much we cared about him and he for us. We´ve had two new PCPS at BMG since and NONE have lived up to his standards and probably never will. He is missed.

Dr. Carritte always showed an amazing amount of genuine kindness to me. He was my PCP for a majority of my life and I felt so fortunate to have an amazing doctor like him especially as a child and young adult. He had the kindest eyes and smile and just carried a great presence around with him. The impression he made on everyone around him will never be forgotten.
